Lady Bears improve early record to 2-0

The Great Commission girls basketball team improved to 2-0 Friday night, thanks to a 35-15 win over Walnut Street Christian in high school action at the Northern Blair Rec Center.

Leah Tofano’s 12 points and 13 rebounds were tops for the Lady bears, who led, 14-6, at halftime. Teammate Haleigh Hatfield added 10 points and six steals.

Great Commission is at Calvary of Huntingdon on Monday.

GC boys triumph

The Great Commission boys evened their record at 1-1 with a 53-40 win over Walnut Street Christian.

Aaron Benson’s 28 points were tops for the Bears, who led, 19-16, at halftime. Teammate Josh Stuart added 13 points.

Walnut Street got 16 points from Braden Barowdiz.

The Bears are Calvary of Huntingdon on Monday.
