Mountain League OKs BC football

EBENSBURG — Bishop Carroll Catholic High School announced Tuesday it has signed an agreement with the members of The Mountain League for football for the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

In addition, Bishop Carroll will become an associate member of the league in 2020. All other Bishop Carroll athletic teams will continue to play in the Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference.

“We are excited for our football program and this opportunity with the Mountain League,” Bishop Carroll Catholic athletic director Dan McMullen said. “We feel this is a beneficial partnership for all programs involved.”

Carroll football coach Sean Billings said he is looking forward “to be able to play in a conference with the level of competition that the Mountain League presents.”

“We couldn’t have found a better home for our football program, and we’re excited for our student athletes to compete with the great programs in the Mountain League,” BC principal Lorie Ratchford said.
