Altoona’s Fox gives DI commitment
She picks Detroit
Altoona Area High School senior Bridgid Fox is all set to play Division I basketball.
Fox, 6-foot versatile forward, committed to the University of Detroit Mercy via Twitter on Thursday.
“I’m so grateful to be a part of the Titan family,” Fox wrote. “It’s truly a dream come true to be a Division I basketball player.”
Fox averaged a double-double for the Lady Lions as a junior last season, with 14.2 points and 12 rebounds per game. The Altoona Mirror second-team all-star helped Altoona go 20-5.
Detroit, coached by Bernard Scott, competes in the Horizon League with Green Bay, IUPUI, Wright State, Milwaukee, Youngstown State, Cleveland State, Oakland, Northern Kentucky and Illinois-Chicago.
Scott led Detroit to 15-15 and 18-14 seasons in his first two years, but the Titans slipped to 2-28 last season.
Fox’s father, Tom, played Division I basketball at Saint Francis University.
