Campbell not among final 12

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — After surviving several rounds of cuts, Bellwood-Antis High School sophomore basketball standout Alli Campbell did not make the final one on Wednesday.

The 2018 USA Basketball Women’s U17 World Cup Team was finalized by the USA Basketball Women’s Developmental National Team Committee. Campbell was one of six girls from a group of 18 cut when the final roster was reduced to 12.

The group of 18 had already been trimmed down from 158 and practices at the United States Olympic Training Center.

Named to the team that will compete in Belarus July 21-29 were: Fran Belibi (Centennial, Colo.); Aliyah Boston (St. Thomas, USVI); Cameron Brink (Beaverton, Ore.); Samantha Brunelle (Ruckersville, Va.); Paige Bueckers (St. Louis Park, Minn.); Zia Cooke (Toledo, Ohio); Azzi Fudd (Arlington, Va.); Jordan Horston (Columbus, Ohio); Haley Jones (Santa Cruz, Calif.); Charisma Osborne (Moreno Valley, Calif.); Celeste Taylor (Valley Stream, N.Y.); and Hailey Van Lith (Wenatchee, Wash.).
