Great Commission knocks off Grier

The Great Commission girls basketball team opened its season Thursday night with a 43-25 win over Grier School in high school action at the Northern Blair Recreation Center.

The Lady Bears, up 13-6 at halftime, got 14 points and 16 rebounds from Leah Tofano, including nine points in the second half. Teammate Haleigh Hatfield scored all 13 of her points in the second half while adding eight steals.

Grier got 11 points from Noah Zu.

Great Commission hosts Walnut Street Christian tonight.

WILLIAMSPORT — The Great Commission boys basketball team opened its season with a 52-51 loss at Williamsport Christian in high school action.

The Bears got 20 points from Aaron Benson, including 14 in the first half. Teammate Josh Stuart added 16 points.

Williamsport Christian was led by Scott Wachob with 21 points.

The Bears host Walnut Street Christian tonight at the Northern Blair Recreation Center.
