Saltsburg is the other. D6 teams were 2-6 in the second round. … Bopp reached 1,000 points in the last game. He’s scored 52 in the last two games, his best over a two-game stretch this season. … Cardinal Wuerl lost to Kennedy Catholic in the quarterfinals last season in Class 1A. … The Trojans are 2-1 in PIAA playoff games against Mirror area teams. The other Ebensburg school, Bishop Carroll, beat them in overtime in the 2014 Class 1A quarterfinals.

The Lady Blue Devils dropped a 63-60 decision to Seton-LaSalle in 2016. … B-A also lost to Girard in the state’s elite eight in 1999. Its only victory in this round was in 1990, when it made it to the state finals in Class 1A. … The all-time leading scorer boy or girl in Blair County and a Saint Francis University recruit, Swogger is averaging 33.5 points over her previous two state playoff games. … The Lady Devils have made 19 3-pointers combined in the last two games. … OLSH is in the quarterfinals for the second year in a row. It lost to Bishop McCort last season. … Three of the Lady Chargers’ losses came at the hands of Chartiers-Houston.

Guilfoyle made it to the final four in Class 1A last season, while McCort made it in 2A. … The Lady Marauders might be without standout forward Audley, who injured her shoulder against West Middlesex. She averages right around a double-double. … The Lady Marauders are on a six-game winning streak in this round of the playoffs and are 17-5 all-time in the state quarterfinals. … The teams met in a regular season game on Jan. 3, with McCort prevailing, 56-53. … Benzel and Thomas are the top scorers all-time at their respective schools. Thomas is a Saint Francis recruit.

Notable: Bishop Carroll is back in the quarterfinals for the second straight year. The Lady Huskies, though, have been stopped in this round their last four trips and are looking to reach the state final four for the first time since 2004. … Carroll hadn’t played a 1A team until the playoffs. … The Lady Huskies’ losses this year all came to teams that won state playoff games: Bishop Guilfoyle (twice), Forest Hills (twice) and Bishop McCort. Guilfoyle and McCort still are alive, and those three teams are a combined 5-1 in interdistricts. … Borlie’s eight points last game were her playoff high. … This is the first time North Clarion has gotten beyond the opening round of interdistricts. The She-Wolves hadn’t been to the District 9 finals since 1986. … Obenrader averages 15.8 rebounds, and she is scoring 27.5 points per game in the playoffs.

Notable: Juniata Valley is making just its second trip ever this deep in the playoffs. The Lady Hornets are trying to even their all-time quarterfinal record at 1-1 after losing in this round to Marian Catholic in 2005. … The Lady Hornets only surrender 35.5 points per game. … All of Valley’s losses came against teams that played for district championships and advanced to states: Bellwood-Antis (three times), Altoona and Bishop Carroll. The Lady Hornets also defeated district finalists Tyrone and Shanksville-Stonycreek. … Valley only is turning the ball over 9.1 times per game. … Valley’s boys lost to Kennedy Catholic in a state playoff second round game on Thursday on this same court. … The Lady Eagles are 10-6 all-time against teams from the Mirror coverage area in the PIAA tournament.
