Notable: Bellwood-Antis is making an appearance in the PIAA tournament for the second straight year. The Lady Devils dropped their opener last season to Burrell, the team that eliminated McGuffey from the WPIAL playoffs. … Sammie Weiss was an all-state selection last season and already holds her school record for most points, boys or girls. The athletic director at McGuffey is former Altoona Area High School football coach Ed Dalton. Though Lynn comes off the bench, she was Bellwood’s leading rebounder heading into the District 6 semifinals. … A Lady Devil win would be the team’s first in interdistricts since 2002. McGuffey’s state playoff trip last year was the first for either of its basketball teams. It’s WPIAL playoff win last year also was a first.
