Claysburg-Kimmel coach steps down

CLAYSBURG – After leading the Claysburg-Kimmel High School boys basketball team to its first winning season in 40 years, Josh Klausman is stepping down as head coach.

Klausman recently submitted his resignation after the Bulldogs were beaten in the District 6 Class A playoffs to finish the year at 12-11.

Klausman, a former athletic director at Claysburg, went 25-86 in five seasons as the head coach.

Claysburg-Kimmel School Board members briefly addressed Klausman’s resignation at a committee meeting Wednesday. A time frame for his replacement hasn’t been set, they said.

The board said a new hire might be made sometime in the summer, depending on planned practice schedules.

A message left for Klausman on Wednesday night was not returned to the Mirror.
