Storm hits game-winner for Lady Tigers

CUMBERLAND, Md. – Courteney Storm hit a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer to cap off her 24-point effort and help Hollidaysburg edge Allegany, Md., 46-43, in high school girls basketball action Saturday.

Morgan Jennings added 10 points for the Lady Tigers, who improved to 12-1.

Everett slips to 0-15

EVERETT – The Everett high school boys basketball team fell to 0-15 overall with a 53-49 loss to McConnellsburg in which the Warriors hit on just 7 of 25 foul shots in the game.

Steven Sheaffer’s 14 points were tops for Evertett, which led, 23-22, at halftime. Teammate Bruce Shaffer added 12 points.

Chase Novack led the Lions with 14 points.

Altoona White wins

Steve Franklin scored 15 points to lead the Altoona White junior high boys basketball team to a 50-43 win over Williamsport Saturday afternoon at the Altoona Junior high gymnasium.

Altoona, now 9-7, also got 12 points from Tyler Skelley.
