BEA will host 4 games in one day

The District 6 Class AAAA high school basketball semifinals will be played as part of a quadrupleheader on Saturday at Bald Eagle Area High School in Wingate, district basketball chairman T.J. Kakabar announced on Monday.
The top-seeded Hollidaysburg girls, coached by?Deanna Jubeck, will tip things off at 1 p.m. against Mifflin County. The day will wrap up with the two Altoona teams in action, first the second-seeded Lady Lions at 4 versus State College and then the third-ranked Mountain Lions taking the floor against Central Mountain at 5:30.
The Hollidaysburg boys could be playing at 2:30 against top-seeded State College, but the Golden Tigers must first get by fourth-seeded Mifflin County in a preliminary game on Thursday at Tyrone Area Middle School – the time for that game has yet to be announced.
The area’s two Class AAA teams that entered the playoffs won’t be in action until next week. The third-seeded Bedford boys will travel to Richland on Feb. 27 to face Somerset in a semifinal game. The night before, the Huntingdon girls play Carrick of the Pittsburgh City League at a site and time to be announced.
Kakabar also announced that, barring postponements, the Class A quarterfinals will be played on Thursday with the Class AA quarters to be held on Friday. The Class A semis will be on Feb. 25 and those in Class AA on Feb. 26.
All eight district championship games will be at St. Francis’ DeGol Arena.
The Class AAAA finals will be on Feb. 27, with Class A to follow on March 1. Class AAA and Class AA champs will be determined in two doubleheaders on March 2.
