Athlete of the week achievement: Bender won the District 6 Class 2A individual golf championship at Scotch Valley Country Club with a round of 77 and also led the Mounties to the team title.
Season update: Bender also was the District 6 2A sectional champ and will compete at the PIAA Western Regional at Tom’s Run next Tuesday.
Coach Jordan Albright’s quote: “Ky is first and foremost the epitome of a student-athlete. He is currently sixth of 106 students in his class with a GPA of 99.3. Ky also applies his academic work ethic on the golf course. As a three-year player/coach elected captain, Ky gives his best in practice to improve his own and his teammates’ games.
