Athlete of the week achievement: Wess won three events at the District 6 Class 2A Championships — winning the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 17.75 seconds and anchoring the 1600 relay and 3200 relay to victories in 4:05.89 and 9:39.27, respectively. All three times bettered the state qualifying standards.

Season update: Wess will compete in the state meet in all three events Friday and Saturday in Shippensburg. Her times in the 800 run, 1600 relay, 3200 relay and 1600 run (5:22.76) top the Mirror coverage area.
