Athlete of the week achievement: Maxwell won three individual events (100-meter dash, 400 dash and 800 run) to help the Lady Warriors win the Inter-County Conference girls team title. She also won three individual events in a tri-meet with Southern Fulton and Williamsburg and a dual meet with Fannett-Metal.

Season update: Maxwell has the top times in the area in the 400 dash (58.79) and 800 run (2:23.25). Her 58.79 in the 400 broke Natalie Dell’s school record. She also is among the top five in the area in the 100 and 200 dashes.

How I got my start in track and field: “My brother, Nathaniel, is a year ahead of me, and he joined track and field in junior high, and I wanted to join. I like to compete; I didn’t like softball.”

Future goal: “I’d like to place at states sometime in my track career.”
