Ronan continues strong baseball year for Panthers

Athlete of the week achievement: Ronan threw 10 innings and gave up only one hit, no runs and struck out 23. Adding in the completion of a suspended game, he was 3-0 as Penn Cambria swept Bishop Carroll in a doubleheader, beat Central Cambria and edged Forest Hills, 1-0. He also went 6-for-9 with five RBIs and six runs.
Season update: In 37 innings, Ronan’s given up eight hits, two earned runs and is 6-1 with a 0.40 ERA. He is hitting .370 with 13 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

He’s always had a great arm and is athletic, but he’s really invested himself in the workouts the last couple of years — pitching and in the weight room. He’s had the tools, but it hadn’t come together for him and he’s taken his lumps.”
