Central’s Helsel puts in extra time

Athlete of the week achievement: Helsel claimed first places in two individual events – the 100-meter dash and long jump – in the District 6 Class AA Track and Field Championships. He also anchored the second-place and state-qualifying 400 relay.

Season update: Helsel broke the Central school record for the most points scored in a single season with 397. He has the second-best time in the 100 dash in the Mirror coverage area, and he’s fourth in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
