Athlete of the week achievement: Over won the triple jump with a leap of 44 feet, 9.5 inches and the long jump with a 21-7.25 at the District 5 Class AA Track and Field Championships. He also placed second in the 110-meter hurdles.

Season update: Over is seeded fourth in the triple jump for this weekend’s PIAA Track and Field Championships in Shippensburg and will also compete in the long jump.

Coach Jeff Batzel’s quote: “He’s really progressed and has come into his own. He’s been really strong, not only in the two jumping events, but in the hurdles, too. He’s improved dramatically. He’s also done the high jump and has been running on relay teams.”

How I got my start in track and field: “I always used to play baseball, but a track coach said I should try track in seventh grade. I gave it a try, and it’s been good ever since.”

Future goal: “I want to get a medal at states, play sports and graduate from college and get a job.”
