Givens cut by San Francisco
Kevin Givens’ first attempt to make the San Francisco 49ers was dealt disappointment Saturday.
Givens, a defensive tackle, was among the players cut as the NFL’s deadline for the 53-player roster arrived.
The former Altoona Area High School and Penn State product was bidding to make the team as an undrafted free agent.
This is the time of year when players are cut and signed to other 53-man rosters or signed to practice squads, sometimes quickly.
Givens could not be reached Saturday, and agent Kaveh Akbari of MBK Sports, who represents Givens, was not available to provide an update.
