Bostick leaving PSU hoop program

UNIVERSITY PARK — Sophomore guard Nazeer Bostick announced Thursday that he has elected to transfer from Penn State and will pursue other collegiate opportunities at the end of the spring semester.

“Naz indicated that he is interested in continuing his basketball career at a program where he can play a more significant role,” Nittany Lion basketball coach Patrick Chambers said. “We fully support Naz in his decision and wish him the very best in his future endeavors. He’ll always be a part of our Penn State family.”

From Philadelphia, Bostick played in 35 games in 2017-18 for the Nittany Lions and started in three. He was first off the bench in 12 contests and made key contributions in Penn State’s first-round NIT win over Temple and the overtime win over Nebraska in the Bryce Jordan Center.

In three Big Ten Tournament games in March, Bostick averaged 3.0 rebounds with a high of four boards vs. Ohio State. He shared team lead in scoring with 14 points vs. Oral Roberts and tied his career high with five field goals against Golden Eagles.
