Johnson named assistant head coach at Ohio State
Larry Johnson not only will be Ohio State’s new defensive line coach, he also has been named an assistant head coach for the Buckeyes. Johnson spent 18 years at Penn State but decided not to accept an offer from James Franklin to remain on the staff.
Former PSU linebackers coach Ron Vanderlinden spoke to Rutgers coach Kyle Flood about the possibility of becoming defensive coordinator, The Star-Ledger reported. The job is expected to go to Robb Smith, a former Rutgers defensive coordinator who coached with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this past season.
