Ruth suspended for breaking rules
Penn State’s two-time NCAA champion, 184-pounder Ed Ruth, has been suspended for at least this weekend’s road dual meet openers against Rider Saturday and Lehigh Sunday.
According to a Fight On State report, Penn State wrestling coach Cael Sanderson said Ruth was suspended for breaking team rules.
“Real quick, one thing: Ed Ruth broke team rules yesterday,” Sanderson told reporters at the Lorenzo Complex Tuesday. “He will not be wrestling this weekend. Not going to comment on that really any more than that, but just so you know.”
James Frascella, a redshirt sophomore who reached this past weekend’s Binghamton Open before losing to Ruth by technical fall, will likely get the start at 184.
