Bucs fall to O’s in ninth
SARASOTA, Fla. — David Washington hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth to give the Baltimore Orioles a 7-6 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday in spring training action.
Pittsburgh, which had won four straight Grapefruit League games, was led by Adam Frazier, who drove in three runs. Frazier’s two-run single gave the Pirates a 3-2 lead in the second. In the fifth, Gift Ngoepe tripled to center and scored on Frazier’s infield out.
Right-hander Clay Holmes started for Pittsburgh and allowed two runs on four hits in 12/3 innings.
