IUP gets pass-happy in victory over Eagles
INDIANA — The IUP football team improved to 3-0 Saturday afternoon, thanks to a 77-14 win over Lock Haven in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference victory.
IUP, which jumped out to a 42-0 halftime lead, got three touchdown passes from quarterback Quinton Maxwell in the first half (29, 6 and 18 yards), plus a 22-yard scoring run from Maxwell.
Backup quarterback Jalen Reese added scoring strikes of 42, 8 and 4 yards for the Crimson Hawks, who also scored 21 points in the fourth quarter. Seven different receivers caught touchdown passes in the IUP victory.
Lock Haven (1-2) scored both touchdowns in the third quarter on a Bryan Greene 7-yard run and a 17-yard touchdown pass from Kyle Knight to Christian Drayton III.
The Crimson Hawks travel to Erie to take on Mercyhurst this Saturday while Lock Haven will host East Stroudsburg.
