AAHS boys win title
FROSTBURG, Md. — The Altoona Area High School boys soccer team won the Mountain Ridge Tournament for the first time by beating the host team in the final, 3-0, late Saturday night.
Brady Freiwald and Brennen Dugan combined on the shutout for Altoona. Austin Kravetz scored two goals and assisted on Alex Berardinelli’s goal.
Earlier, Altoona beat Brunswick, 5-1, behind two goals each from Berardinelli and Kravetz. Zachary Kowalski also scored for Altoona.
Altoona also won the penalty shootout after the Brunswick match, 2-1, to earn another point toward the tournament scoring format.
