Johnston gets first loss of City/AAABA season

Ricky Patterson’s two-run double in the sixth inning helped lead BMG Construction to a 5-2 win over Johnston Realty in a Greater City League/AAABA game Monday.

It was the first loss of the season for Johnston.

Andrew Maul struck out five in two innings of relief work for BMG (3-1). Rich Ball got the win. Ball and Patterson each had two hits.

Lennox Pugh and Frank Montecalvo each had solo RBI efforts for Johnston. Montecalvo had three of his team’s five hits.

Luke McCoy had two hits and four RBIs to lead Lilly Conrad Chiropractic American Legion to a win over Cumming Motors at Juniata.

Up 3-2, Lilly, which also got two hits and two RBIs from Brandon Ickes, scored four times in the sixth to break the game wide open. Brock Porter, Brent Matish and Landon Sinclair each had two hits for Lilly.

Sinclair, the winning pitcher, struck out six and walked only one while scattering five hits.

Cumming got two hits from Jake Cherry and two RBIs from Casey Winters.

TYRONE — Kevin Lehner drove in two runs to lead Tyrone Legion (3-1) to a victory over previously unbeaten Martin Oil, which lost for the first time in five games, in Kelley Federation League action.

Tyrone Legion scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to erase a 3-1 deficit.

CLAYSBURG — Shirley’s Cookies scored four in the second inning and seven in the fifth in a win over Barton’s Plumbing & Heating.

Parker Dibert collected four RBIs for Shirley’s, while Kyle Glass and Zach McCarty tallied two hits each.

Altoona Teener League

Camden Cavalet and Nick Peterson combined to shut down Sheetz in a 2-1 win for PennCrest Bank in an Altoona Teener League Deremer Division game at Seitz Field late Sunday night.

Cavalet started and gave up only three hits. He struck out seven and walked three. Peterson got the win in relief, giving up just one hit. The only RBI of the game came from Justin Fleck for PennCrest (13-1).

Aiden Steinbugl was the tough-luck losing pitccher. He struck out six, did not walk a batter and gave up only four hits for Sheetz (6-8).

n Eldorado Kiwanis manufactured a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Cumming Motors, 6-5, in the Altoona Teener League Lowey Division play at Seitz Field on Sunday.

Payton Harman singled, stole second and was sacrificed to third by Matthew Levri. Harman then scored on a fielder’s choice hit by Landon Stiffler.

Cumming had tied the game in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI single by Gabriel Harshbarger that scored Blake Nicolini.
