Lady Lions down rival Tigers
Isabella Zavalinski and Hannah Strawmire each had three hits to lead the Altoona softball team to a 10-4 win over Hollidaysburg in high school action at Logan Elementary Friday.
Strawmire, the winning pitcher, had two doubles, while Zavalinski had three singles in a game the Lady Lions (2-15) led, 4-1, after two innings. Altoona also got a home run from Madison Pincin.
The Lady Tigers (3-15), who cut the lead to 4-3 with two runs in the fourth inning, got a home run from Zoie Estep.
Strawmire finished with three strikeouts and four walks. Losing pitcher Oakley Fox-Kern struck out three and walked four.

CRESSON — Sydnie Reese and Julia Podrasky each hit home runs in the third inning to power Penn Cambria to a win over Somerset in Laurel Highland Athletic Conference game.
Reese, Podrasky and Macy Sral each drove in two runs for the Lady Panthers, who led 8-2 after the three, thanks to a five-run frame in the third.
Sral also struck out five and scattered five hits through five innings of action in the circle.
