Glendale clinches ICC North Division title

FLINTON — Glendale clinched the Inter-County Conference’s North Division with a comeback, 14-10, victory over Bellwood-Antis in high school softball Tuesday.

The Lady Vikings led 8-0 after five innings, but the Lady Blue Devils scored 10 runs in the top of the sixth inning and got three RBIs from both Faith Patton and Jestelynn Heaton.

Glendale responded with six runs in the bottom of the inning to reclaim the lead and wrap up the division.

Breanna Vereshack had a pair of doubles and four RBIs, and Kyla Campbell doubled and tripled for the Lady Vikings.

WILLIAMSBURG — Olivia Bushore pitched a five-inning shutout with nine strikeouts and no walks in Claysburg-Kimmel’s win over Williamsburg in the Inter-County Conference action.

Haileigh Reed drove in four runs on 3-for-3 hitting and scored two runs, while Harleigh Cavender was 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Juniata Valley was down, 7-0, after three innings but chipped away to tie in the seventh with three runs on five hits. Brooke Boonie drove in four runs for the Lady Hornets (4-10), and Madison Belinda went the distance to get the win.

The Lady Bisons were behind, 7-0, after three innings, scored six runs in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to three, but only managed one more run in the seventh.

Raquel Imler and Brianna Woodring doubled for Bedford and Lindsay Mowry and Kaitlin Brunnelli both tripled.
