Little league awarded grant

CRESSON — The Cresson Area/Community Little Baseball League will improve its facilities for players and families thanks to a $5,000 grant presented Thursday by Energy Transfer.

The donation will help the organization make much-needed updates to its facilities, league President Gene Pietrowski said.

“We appreciate the generous donation from Energy Transfer to the Cresson Area/Community Little Baseball League,” Pietrowski said. “This donation will help us improve our facilities, which provide safe baseball fun for hundreds of players ages 4 to 12 in the local community. We are currently updating our fence, lighting and concession stand. These funds will be used in various ways to offset costs.”

Energy Transfer presented a check for $5,000 to league officials Thursday as part of its Mariner East pipeline system outreach efforts.

“At Energy Transfer we look to invest in the communities in our footprint,” Energy Transfer public affairs specialist Chris Koop said. “Youth baseball is a rich pastime that brings our communities together, and we are happy to be a part of it.”
