Local pair honored

Seton Hill junior Nathan Davis and Shippensburg senior Abby Wagner were recently named Pennslyvania State Athletic Conference Top 10 honorees for the 2018-19 winter sports season.

The PSAC Top 10 awards are meant to recognize student-athletes who excel in athletics as well as in the classroom.

Davis, 3.95 GPA spanish major from Bellwood-Antis, was Seton Hill’s second-leading scorer with an average of 19.2 points per game, good for sixth in the conference, and also led the team in rebounds (7.4). He was previously named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II men’s basketball first team for this academic year.

Wagner, an Altoona graduate, is in her final semester of classes with a cumulative GPA of 3.82 majoring in exercise science. She became the first indoor triple jump All-American in Shippensburg history by placing sixth at the NCAA indoor championships in March with a career-best jump of 41-feet, 1.5 inches, which broke her own school record by three inches from earlier in the season.
