Golden Tiger graduate tops for Pennsylvania

BOSTON — Hollidaysburg native Dr. Kenny Goodfellow finished among the top 50 male runners in the 123rd Boston Marathon on Monday.

Goodfellow, 29, finished 53rd in the overall field but was 49th among male runners. He finished in a time of 2 hours, 26 minutes, which was nearly 18 minutes behind winner Lawrence Cherono.

He was also the first Pennsylvania runner to cross the finish line in his third Boston Marathon. He finished in 2:35:34 in 2016 and 2:43:51 last year.

Goodfellow, a 2007 Hollidaysburg Area High School graduate who ran cross country and track at Juniata College, is an optical engineer at L3 Technologies in Pittsburgh. He’s a three-time winner of the Angie Gioiosa July 4 Race.

Ethan Imhoff, 42, of Hollidaysburg finished in a time of 3:02:52, Andrew Cunningham, 40, of Port Matilda ran 3:19:04, and Jeff Bartlett, 54, of Altoona finished with a time of 4:11:46.

Hollidaysburg’s Mary Kowalski, 52, was the top finisher among area women, ending with a time of 3:32:44. Kristen Gill, 48, of Hollidaysburg ran 3:46:56, and Altoona’s Colleen Kelly, 26, ran 3:55:41.
