Barton to host NCAA opener
WILSON, NC — The Barton College men’s volleyball team punched its ticket to the NCAA Division I-II national championships with a five-set victory over King College in the Conference Carolinas championship match.
Barton College will host the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association champion Princeton Thursday at 7 p.m. in the NCAA National Championships opening round. Princeton edged Penn State to win the EIVA title.
The winner will advance to play Pepperdine in the national quarterfinals.
Bishop Guilfoyle’s Ben Kasun is the back-up setter on the team and a serving specialist. For the season, Kasun has 118 assists, 16 kills and nine aces.
Penn State Altoona Athletics and its Student-Athlete Advisory Council are holding the eighth annual Staff/Faculty vs. Student-Athlete Charity Basketball Game tonight in the Adler Arena at 6 p.m., in partnership with Special Olympics.
