Youngster pitches Bulldogs to victory

CLAYSBURG — Sophomore Olivia Bushore pitched a one-hit shutout in leading Claysburg-Kimmel to a six-inning 10-0 win over Southern Huntingdon Saturday in high school softball action.

Bushore struck out six in helping C-K improve to 2-1.

Harleigh Cavender led the Lady Bulldogs with four RBIs, while Madison Frye added three. Teammate Jazmin Kennedy added two RBIs.

INDIANA — Trinity Molliver hit her first career home run in the top of the first inning for Hollidaysburg, but the Lady Tigers fell in the season-opening game in 41/2 innings to Indiana.

Haleigh Zimmerman’s grand slam in the fourth gave Indiana a 12-run lead to initiate the 10-run mercy rule.

Indiana improved to 3-1.
