College signing
Jenna Bartlett: Clarion cross country/track and field
High School: Bellwood-Antis
Sport: Cross Country/Track and Field
Position: Distance running
College choice: Clarion University
Other colleges considered: Shippensburg, IUP, Lock Haven
Why I picked Clarion: Because as soon as I first walked on the campus, I immediately felt welcomed by Coach Laughlin. He was very personable and thoroughly showed me around, as well as recognizing my potential and giving me a clear vision as to what kind of addition I would be to the team. The campus also felt very homey to me, and the girls on the cross country team were so wonderful and shared with me the ins and outs of the university.
Greatest high school achievement: Qualifying for the PIAA Cross Country Championships in 2018
Coach Julie Roseborough’s comment: I am very happy Jenna is continuing her running career at Clarion. She has worked very hard the last four years at all aspects of being a good runner. She is mentally and physically tough and should be able to contribute to their program.
How I got my start running cross country: I ran 5Ks here and there with my dad before I started cross country in 9th grade. I stuck with it and began track and field and have added more intense training as I realized my potential with the sport.
Favorite college growing up: Penn State
Other interests: Writing, listening to music, speech league, being with friends and family, traveling
What getting to run in college means to me: I am so excited that God has given me the opportunity to run in college. Before my junior year, I really didn’t think it was going to be possible, but I set my goal to run in college, trained harder, and now, I couldn’t be more thankful to be able to continue my competitive running career. I’m so pumped that I get four more years to toe the line and run with some insanely fast people.
Probable college major: Nutrition and Fitness
