Thomas powers unbeaten Bedford

CRESSON — Amber Thomas netted five goals, and goalkeeper Lindsay Mowry earned the shutout as Bedford blanked Penn Cambria, 8-0, in high school girls soccer action on Wednesday at Mount Aloysius College.

Robyn Casalena tallied two goals, and Jenna Brown notched a goal and had three assists as the Lady Bisons remained unbeaten through 11 matches.

Altoona jumped out to a 7-0 halftime lead and cruised past DuBois at Mansion Park.

Lauren Kiser, Katie Aveni, Cassie Kyle and Darrian Berkheimer each scored two goals for the Lady Lions. Kiser and Berkheimer each added two assists.

Other goal scorers for Altoona were Morgan Sarver, Becca Dull and Shelby Smeal.

Altoona improved its record to 12-4.
