PORT ROYAL — Freddie Rahmer won his first career Port Royal Speedway sprint car main in the All-Star Circuit of Champions the night before the Tuscarora 50. Rahmer successfully held off Tim Shaffer to claim the victory.

The race for the 2018 sprint car track title was determined for point leader Greg Hodnett during the event when he destroyed his car in the first dash race, and then was forced to turn to a backup car, which refused to fire for the feature.

This saw Hodnett forfeit any feature points he may have earned and saw Logan Wagner secure the 2018 track title in what was a drastic turn of events during the affair.

The super late model main saw Danville’s Jeff Rine surge to his fifth win of the season, which in turn secured him a first-ever Port Royal track title.

With 53 cars pit-side for the running of the 51st annual Tuscarora 50 on Saturday, rains hit just after qualifying time trials had been completed, forcing cancellation of the All-Stars Circuit of Champions Saturday program.

With diminished hopes of completing the program on Sunday, the slated rain date, oval and All-Stars officials still forged ahead with plans to conduct the event.

However rains overnight and through the morning forced another cancellation.

Officials are currently working out the details of a make-up date.

JENNERSTOWN — The Speedway was forced to cancel FFX Trucking Night at the Races and all activities scheduled for Saturday due to inclement weather.
