Penn Cambria tops Hollidaysburg

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Makaylyn Clapper had 16 kills and nine blocks, Laken Guzic chipped in 18 assists, and Mia McCarthy finished with 22 digs as Penn Cambria knocked off Hollidaysburg 25-22, 16-25, 25-19, 27-25 Thursday night in high school girls volleyball.

Hollidaysburg’s Clair Sauerland had 12 kills and 16 digs, while Lindsay Everett had 14 kills, 12 digs and two aces. Regan Ferguson had 36 Lady Tiger assists, and Olivia Dipangrazio added 17 digs.

Mackenzie Clemens had 20 assists for the Lady Bulldogs, and Corryne Wyandt added 12 assists and six aces. Haileigh Reed finished with eight digs.

Maddy Beasom added five kills for the Lady Hornets as they improved to 1-1.

LOYSBURG — Northern Bedford opened slow but managed to pull out the win in straight sets over Tussey Mountain, 25-23, 25-22, 25-17.

Mara Laird led with 10 service points for the Lady Panthers, while Shyann Zelanko and Ally Ritchey each had seven. Shay Reasey led Northern in kills with seven, and Madison Johnson added five.
