Altoona battles PC in victory

CRESSON — Altoona opened its season Tuesday night with a 25-21, 14-25, 25-21, 27-25 win over Penn Cambria in high school girls volleyball action.

Altoona got 29 assists from Emily Albright, 12 kills from Bridgid Fox, along with 14 service points from Fox and 10 service points from Hailey Alwine.

Penn Cambria got 24 assists from Laken Guzic, along with 18 digs and 14 kills from Makalyn Clapper. Mia McCarthy added 11 service points while Macy Sral contributed 10 kills.

EVERETT — Everett got eight kills, two blocks, two aces and 13 service points from Aly Daley in leading Everett to a 25-22, 25-14, 25-7 win over Tussey Mountain.

Teammae Ella Hinish added 14 service points and eight digs, while Camile Shaffer and Ashlyn Hicks each added six assists.

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Rylee Ritko delivered 12 kills, 10 service points, including five aces, and eight digs to lead Hollidaysburg to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-18) win over Central.

Reagan Ferguson came through with 28 assists and eight points, and Olivia DiPangrazio added 16 digs and eight service points for the Lady Tigers.
