Sikora leads Central Cambria girls to three victories

EBENSBURG — Jaylee Sikora earned medalist honors by shooting a nine-hole score of 39 and helped Central Cambria top Penn Cambria and Penns Valley at the Ebensburg Country Club in high school girls golf action Thursday.

Ally Simmers and Sadee LaRose both shot 43 for the Lady Devils, who topped the Lady Panthers, 125-165. Kayla Ringler carded a 51 for Penn Cambria.

The Lady Panthers did manage to top the Lady Rams, who shot a combined 223.

State College wins

STATE COLLEGE — Altoona’s Derek McAlkich earned medalist honors by shooting a 77, but Altoona fell to State College, 412-421, in a high school boys golf meet where six players played and five scores counted.

The Mountain Lions’ Caleb Tilson, and State College’s John Olsen and Ryan Battista each carded 80s.

Tigers triumph

CURWENSVILLE — Hollidaysburg cruised to a win over Clearfield at Curwensville Country Club, 336-448, behind a medalist performance from Anthony Martinelli, who shot an 81.

Jake Gallagher finished with an 82 for the Golden Tigers.

HASTINGS — Tanner Pershing’s 38 tied Homer-Center’s Chris Ober for medalist honors, but the score helped Northern Cambria top the Wildcats, 221-236.

Aaron Krug carded a 43 for the Colts.

Noah Patton scored best for the Blue Devils with a 127.
