Martinelli keys Hollidaysburg’s win

Hollidaysburg shot for 339 as a team, with Anthony Martinelli posting an 81 and Jake Gallagher scoring an 86 to lead the Golden Tigers over Tyrone (360), Punxsutawney (391) and Bellefonte (426) at the Scotch Valley Country Club Wednesday in high school golf action.

Eric Davis finished with an 84 and Gaige Orndoff shot an 88 for the day.

Tyrone’s Andrew Ferguson shot a 76 to lead all scorers, while teammate Jake Taylor shot an 88 and Sam Ayers and Brett McNeel both scored 98s.

Altoona triumphs

Led by Caleb Tilson’s medalist score of 76 and Derek McAlkich’s 78, Altoona posted a 339-345 victory over visiting Kiski Prep at the Park Hills Country Club.

Portage gets a sweep

JOHNSTOWN — Austin Gentile carded a medalist score of 44 and Max Herman shot a 45 to lead Portage to a WestPAC conference sweep of Conemaugh Valley and Windber on Conemaugh Valley’s Berkley Hills course.

Portage (3-2) racked up a team score of 248, while Conemaugh Valley carded a 275 and Windber carded a 291.

Bihary leads Lady Tigers

CLEARFIELD – Morgan Bihary fired a 50 to lead the Hollidaysburg girls team, however, the Lady Tigers fell, 224-231, to Clearfield at the Clearfield Country Club.

Philipsburg-Osceola also competed and finished with a 157, thanks to a 45 from Halle Herrington, in a win over Clearfield.
