Lamey, Huggler have perfect week of golf in Huntingdon

HUNTINGDON — Bob Lamey and Gerry Huggler went 3-0 during week 3 of the first cycle in the Big Orange Golf League at the Huntingdon Country Club.

Larry Newton and Fred Lear were second (2-1), followed by Jim Lakso and Rick Bayer (1-2) and Bill Frazier and Ed Gargula (0-3).

The low gross winner was Geoff Clarke (36), while Huggler was the low net winner (34). The shot of the day was Lame’s 20-foot birdie putt on No. 5.

Substitutes for the week were Clarke for Frazier and Phil Thompson for Lear.

Scotch Valley

HOLLIDAYSBURG — The team of Ginger Glass, Jess Genter, Maxine Weinberg and Angela Gardner teamed up to shoot a 137 to win the Scotch Valley Ladies Event at the Scotch Valley Country Club.

Second-place honors went to the team of Deb Stitt, Mimi Lopez, Ilissa Zimmerman and Angela Gardner (147).

The Dick Logan Memorial Tournament was won by the team of Steve Dull, Josh Leibfred, Kellen Brown and Denny Penabaker. Second-place honors went to the team of David Marks, Jared Kohl, Mike Eardley and Hues Eardley.

Sylvan Hills

HOLLIDAYSBURG — The team of Bernie Mayancsik, Lynn Durbin, Sheila Spangler and Carolyn Painter were the winners of the Ladies Day Scramble held recently at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.

Second-place honors went to the team of Linda Derman, Bonnie Deem and Marian Monios. The third-place team was Carol Young, Melissa Fetzer, Sheri Baker and Rita Brouse.

The longest drive of the day went Spangler and Amy Cyman. The longest putt belonged to Brouse.

Iron Masters

ORE HILL — Ron Hinish and Garth Honsaker combined for a 131 recently to win the gross division during the playing of the Senior Classic held at the Iron Masters Country Club.

They competed in the 60-69 age division.

Ed Stricker and Mike Raley were second (138), followed by Rick Mallow and Dale Hebner 9144), Rick Holtz and Brady Eckenrode (146) and Ken Emigh and John Shaffer (148).

The winners of the net division were Kevin Feath and Bill Burket (119). Second place went to Randy Ritchey and Steve Miller (124), followed by Joe Burke and Bub Smith (128), Steve Westbrook and T.J. Evangelisto (131), Jesse Reighard and Stan Rupert (133) and Duane Morgret and Don Cottle (133).

The winners of the 50-59 gross division were Brian Smith and Mac Rosenbaum (140). Second place went to Ed Smith and Gene Snyder (141), followed by Randy Jarratt and Mark Steele (145) and Daryl Yoder and Jim Estep (146).

Ralph Pacifico and Keith McGraw won the net division (122), followed by Jerry Weaver and Don McCready (128), Steve Stroup and Mike Feaster (129) along with Terry Funcheon and Francis Pirozzola (131).

The team of Tim Dilling, Rick Mock, Jerry Weaver and Bryan James won the Memorial Day Best 2-of-4 Tournament with a 124. Wes Elder, Mase McCreary, Tim Yingling and Jake Oakes (126) were second.

Philipsburg Elks

PHILIPSBURG — The team of Adam Timchak and Scott Nelson were the winners of the W. Carl Lupton Memorial Golf Tournament held recently at the Philipsburg Elks Lodge Country Club.

Jim Dixon and Patrick Brown finished second, followed by Arch and Dan Myers in third. Doug Goss and Robert Mitchell were fourth.

The team of Georgiann Way and Nancy Moskel won the ladies portion of the event. Daria Danko and Gabriele Healey were second, followed by Cathy Greenland and Gerry McCully, and Cathy Miller and Georgie Myers.

Flight winners included Jared Anderson and Joshua Muir (first), David Belko and Michael Healey (second), Andrew Myers and Doug Ammerman (third), Pedro Nartatez and Rob Bressler (fourth).

Summit

CRESSON — The team of John Dziabo, Quintin Dziabo, Jay Pheasant and Mitch Johns won the Mike Tremel Memorial Scholarship Fund Outing held recently at the Summit Country Club.

They won in a tie over the team of Doug Fogel, Mike Funicelli, Tony Mignogna and Ken Fisher. Third-place honors went to the team of Mark Sauka, Sam Stevens, Matt Ratchford and Andy Ostinowsky.

In other action, the 2018 Ladies League Night had Mag Weiland in first place with 24 points. There was a tie for second place between Tori Acker, Dolly Templeton and Maureen Calandra (22 points). In 2018 Couples League Night action, Carrie and Doug Fogel were tied for first with 25 points. The next closest duo was the team of Cindy and Len Snowberger with 14 points.
