Green sparks Locker Room

Tyreke Green had two hits and drove in four runs to lead Locker Room to a 13-3 win over Police in an Altoona Teener Major League 14-15 game at Mansion Park on Tuesday night.

Green also got the win, striking out five without a walk. Nick Folcarelli, Gauge Frank and Andrew Greiner all added three hits for the winner. Brian Colabove had two RBIs for Police.

Teener Minor

Winning pitcher Bradin Gattrell had four RBIs and three hits as McMullen Furniture topped M&T Bank, 16-1, in 13-year-old Altoona Teener League action at Seitz Field late Monday night.

Brady Hibbs added three hits for McMullen.

P-O, C-K place four

UNIVERSITY PARK — District 6 champions Philipsburg-Osceola and Claysburg-Kimmel each placed four players on the Pennsylvania Softball Coaches Association District 6 All-Star Team.

P-O, the Class 3A champ, was represented by pitcher Kam Harris, catcher Kylie Thal, shortstop Hannah Thompson and outfielder Maddie Lucas on the 3A and 4A team.

Also on the 3A and 4A team were Central catcher Cam Feathers, second baseman Olivia Smith and shortstop Jenna Ritchey. Bellefonte had nine players on the team.

Claysburg, the 1A champ, was represented by infielders Madison Knisley, Emily Claar and Haileigh Reed, and outfielder Mikalynn Bauman.

Glendale also boasted four players on the team — catcher Kristen Hewitt, infielder Olivia Reese, outfielder Makenzie Lukehart and designated player Alexis Mulhollen.

Others on the 1A and 2A team were Moshannon Valley infielders Kendra Merritt and Emma Kitko, and outfielder Sidney Lewis, and Bellwood-Antis pitcher Haley Schmidt, who was named as a utility player.

In Class 6A and 5A, Hollidaysburg catcher Kaitlyn Cappella and designated player Jordynn Robertson were honored.

The players will be recognized at Penn State University’s Beard Field on Wednesday June 20 during the PSBCA annual Senior All-Star Game and District 6 Softball Coaches Hall of Fame Induction ceremony.

For players to be recognized, their coaches must be part of the PSBCA.
