Winners crowned in City tourney

BEDFORD — The Altoona USBC Women’s Bowling Association recently held its seventh annual City Tournament at the Bedford Elks Bowling Center where Joan Mann, Brenda Miller, Eileen Mock, Eileen Delozier,Cheryl Rupp, Tonya Dibert, Marie Shaffer and Julie Fox were the big winners.

In the all-events handicapped division, Mann finished first ahead of Shaffer, Judith Felker, Delozier and Dibert. Completing the top seven were Prudence Harclerode and Shirley Sipe.

In the all-events scratch division, Miller took first followed by Fox, Toni Watt, Margo Osterhout and Crystal Bartley. Completing the top seven sere Jackie Frederick and Heather Partner.

Checkered Flag won the Team Handicapped title. TPJC Split Happens won the Scratch Division.

In the doubles handicapped divison, Mock and Delozier won first-place honors, followed by Harclerode and Vickie Roose in second, Darla Brady and Mann and Dibert and Lois Ramsey. The doubles scratch division was won by Rupp and Miller, followed in order by Watt and Crystal Bartley, Fox and Pamela Bartley, and Dena Renney and Partner.

In the singles handicapped division, Dibert and Shaffer tied for first, followed by Harclerode in third, then Phyllis Corle and Frederick tied for fourth. Completing the top eight were Delozier, Roose and Julie Myers. Fox won the singles scratch division, followed in order by Miller, Rupp, Watt, Osterhoust, Christine Cleaver, Jill Brown and Edie Frederick.

McMullen tops Gingrich

Jack Ankeny and Jacob Hammel each drove in one run and had two hits as McMullen Furniture handed Gingrich Insurance its first loss of the season in Lowey D­ivision Altoona Teener League action Saturday, 6-2.

Brady Hibbs recorded the win for McMullen.

Professionals Auto Body wins

Professionals Auto Body scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings, and Christian Stawmier came home on a walk-off walk to help PAB beat Barton’s Plumbing and Heating, 12-11, in an Altoona Teener League 14-15 year-old game game Saturday at Seitz Field.

Mitchell Kratzer and Cameron Mauk each had four RBIs for Professionals (2-0). Nathan Kerr totaled three hits and three RBIs for Barton’s (0-2).
