WILLIAMSBURG — Cate Baran struck out 18, going the distance for Tyrone in a 9-0 shutout of Williamsburg in high school softball action on Tuesday.

Juniors Alley Jones and Callie Maceno each homered for the Lady Eagles and freshman Ella Pearson drove in two runs. Williamsburg’s Olivia England had two hits.

FLINTON — In a rematch of last year’s District 6 Class 1A championship, Claysburg-Kimmel and Glendale split an Inter-County Conference doubleheader with each team winning handily.

Emily Claar drove in three runs on four hits, and Madison Frye belted a grand slam in the first game for Claysburg-Kimmel.

In game two, Glendale turned the tables, as Olivia Reese drove in four runs, Makenzie Lukehart brought home three, and Lexi Mulhollen knocked in two more. Jazmin Kennedy drove in two runs for Claysburg, which fell to 15-3, while Glendale improved to 11-3.
