Tyrone netters prevail

MILL HALL — Caleb Orr and Hunter Reese teamed for a 10-8 win at No. 2 singles to lift Tyrone over Central Mountain, 3-2, in high school boys tennis on Friday.

Tyrone only won one of the three singles matches — Paul Lemaire prevailing at the No. 2 position. Caden Brooks and Brandon Kemp got a team point for the Golden Eagles at the No. 1 doubles slot.

Marauders swept

MANCHESTER — The undefeated, four-time defending state champion, Northestwern, made short work of visiting Bishop Guilfoyle, defeating the Marauders, 25-21, 25-13, 25-19, in high school boys volleyball action.

Charles Patterson had 10 kills and three blocks for Guilfoyle, while Vincent Good had 17 assists.


BISHOP GUILFOYLE: Good 6, Burke 4, Wesner 3, Brumbaugh 2, Welteroth 2.

Area 4 VFW

MARTINSBURG — Jonah Snowberger had four hits and drove in three runs to lead Spring Cove A to a 16-3 win in five innings over Hollidaysburg A in an Area 4 VFW 13-14 game.

The winners also got three hits and three RBIs from Logan Brumbaugh. Hollidaysburg got two hits from Steven Karageanes.
