Two tie for Jack Frank Memorial event

Two teams tied for first place of the Net Division at the Jack Frank Memorial at Philipsburg Elks Lodge and Country Club held on May 12.

The first team consisted of Georgiann Way, Mollie Neidrick, Eric Neidrick, and Paul Neidrick, and the second team was made up of Jim Soltis, Dave Mital, Justin Wallace, Donnie Billotte. Each team shot a 53.

The team of Bob Mitchell, Josh Muir, Ray McMullen and Jim Dixon won the Gross Division of the tournament, shooting a 56.

Winners of on-course prizes were Ron Eiler, Dave Thompson, Paul Brimmeir and Parker Watson.

Sylvan Hills Golf Club

The team of Lynn Perry, Rosey McCoy, Linda Wise and Molly Goldstein took first place honors at the Jack and Jill Tournament held Tuesday at Sylvan Hills Golf Club.

Taking second place was the team of Scott Henck, Bonnie Deem, Lynn Durbin and Loretta Sheiter, while the team of Vince Farabaugh, Nancy Moore and Lisa Rhoa took third.

Lynn Durbin and Rita Brouse tied for the longest women’s drive on the day, Scott Henck had the longest men’s drive, and Marian Monios had the longest put.

Alexander Hicks sank a hole-in-one while playing golf at the Scotch Valley Country Club. The shot came on No. 12, 184-yards long using the black tees. It was witnessed by John Murphy and James Kelly.

Altoona’s Anita Jo Petrusky had a hole-in-one on the 103-yard par 3, fourth hole at Summit Country Club on May 15. Petrusky used her 8 iron. The shot was witnessed by Sukye Bullock, Jamie Dziabo, Marge Lazor and Mary Grace Neugebauer.

John Sacha made a hole-in-one while golfing the eleventh hole of King Valley Golf Course on May 11. Sacha’s shot was his third hole-in-one and came on his 6 iron. The shot was witnessed by Ray Fovziat and Ed Fenton.
