Locker Room set to defend title

From Mirror reports

The Altoona Greater City Baseball League begins another season today but with a different defending champion.

Locker Room, which knocked off Lilly Conrad Chiropractic/American Legion in last year’s finals, will open the year against BMG Construction at 4 p.m. today in Lilly.

Lilly Conrad, which had won the previous 13 out of 14 league titles, hosts Blair County Oil at 2 p.m. today.

All eight teams will be in action today with Medicine Shoppe/SOP playing Sheetz at Vets at 2 p.m. and Shields Trophies taking on Barton’s Plumbing at Vets at 4.

Each team will play each other three times this season and each of the two AAABA teams — Johnston Realty and Cumming Motors — twice for 25 games.

The top four teams will make the playoffs in late July.
