Lilly destroys Barton

Winning pitcher Mike Wigfield only surrendered one hit and Lilly Conrad Chiropratic American Legion exploded for 15 runs in the sixth inning in a 24-0, win over Barton’s Plumbing & Heating in Altoona Greater City Baseball action at Vets Field on Friday.

Brent Matish led Lilly with five RBIs. Lilly’s Gordan Barr doubled twice, and Landon Sinclair had two RBIs and a homer.

Winning pitcher Tristan Lingafelt struck out 11 while combining on a five-hitter, and Jake Barton delivered two hits and three RBIs to lead Barton Plumbing & Heating to a 10-8 victory over Shields Trophy in its season opener late Thursday night at Vets.

Lingafelt finished with two hits, including a double, while teammate Tom Bettwy drove in two runs. John Fanelli had two RBIs for Shields Trophy.
