Dragons notch 1st win­

MUNHALL — Central defeated Steel Valley, 25-19, 16-25, 25-12, 26-24, for its first victory of the season in high school boys volleyball on Thursday.

Alec Madden had a team-high 15 service points and 14 kills, Kaven Gahagan added 13 kills and Devin Clapper had seven blocks. Nathan Earnest added 16 assists for the Scarlet Dragons.

Altoona sweeps

Altoona swept Huntingdon, 25-19, 25-19, 25-20, on the Mountain Lions’ senior night at the AAHS Fieldhouse.

Senior Phil Swartz had 23 kills and 16 digs and fellow senior Masen Nartatez had 28 assists.

Julian Groenendaal had 13 kills and 12 digs for the Bearcats.

BG wins in three

DuBOIS — Tyler Rumbaugh registered 25 kills to go along with nine digs to power Bishop Guilfoyle over DuBois, 25-16, 25-16, 25-15.

Kai Kimberly dished out 24 assists for the Marauders, who also received 12 service points and seven kills from Michael Burke and six kills and four blocks from Justin Charlton.
