CLAYSBURG — Claysburg-Kimmel got two hits and four RBIs from Madison Frye and came back from a 4-0 deficit to squeak by Bellwood-Antis, 7-6, in high school softball on Tuesday.

Jazmin Kennedy collected three hits for the Lady Bulldogs, who also got two hits from Emily Claar and Harleigh Cavender. Bellwood’s Faith Patton and Ashton Payne had three hits apiece, and Payne drove in two runs. Kat Knisely tacked on two hits for the Lady Devils.

In the opener, Alaney Vereshack and Breanna Vereshack each had two hits and an RBI in leading the Lady Vikings to an 11-1 win in five innings. Winning pitcher Lexi Mulhollen also drove in a run. Alexi McMonigal had two hits for the Lady Pirates.

In the nightcap, Lilley Vereshack hit a grand slam during a 12-run third inning in the Lady Vikings’ 16-1 win in three innings. Kristen Hewitt added two hits and four RBIs to go with two hits and two RBIs from Olivia Reese.

In the second game, Deetscreek collected four hits and three RBIs, and Kylie Burket had two hits and three RBIs.
