CLAYSBURG — Olivia Bushore fired a three-hit shutout to help Claysburg-Kimmel down Juniata Valley, 12-0, in high school softball action on Wednesday.

Emily Claar had three hits and two RBIs for Claysburg, now 12-2, and Raelynne Grabill had two hits and two RBIs. Also driving in two runs for Claysburg were Mikalynn Bauman, Haileigh Reed and Jasmin Kennedy.

WILLIAMSBURG — After dropping the opener of a doubleheader to Bellwood-Antis, 12-1, Williamsburg came back with four runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a split with a 4-2 win in the nightcap.

Freshman Elizabeth Frederick fired a three-hitter for the Lady Pirates in the second game with 15 strikeouts. She also had two hits. Emily Smith had three hits, and Alexi McMonagle added two.

In the opener, Bellwood’s Jestelynn Heaton and Ashtyn Payne each hit a home run among their two hits with Heaton driving in five and Payne two. Haley Schmidt earned the win with a four-hitter.

Amelia Morning drove in two runs for the Lady Marauders in the first game, in which Sydney Berish had two hits.

Paige Debias recorded three hits, including a double, and Macie Paborski collected two hits and three RBIs for Forest Hills in the first game. Sydney McCormick came through with three hits, while Autumn Holdsworth drove in three runs.
