B-A rallies past Central

MARTINSBURG — Caden Nagle struck out nine over six innings, and Travis Luensmann provided enough offense for Bellwood-Antis in a 5-4 win over Central in high school baseball action on Wednesday.

Down 4-3, Luensmann delivered a two-run triple in the sixth inning for the Blue Devils (15-3). Teammate Trentin Whaley also got an RBI on a bases-loaded walk. Central pitchers combined for nine walks in the game. Luensmann finished with two hits.

Central got three hits from Jason Ferry.

Central also played Huntingdon in a makeup contest following the Bellwood-Antis game, and the two schools played to a 9-9 tie. It was determined by both programs that the game will not be finished at a later date.

Braeden Burchfield had two hits, and Owen Kravetz had two RBIs for Altoona, which improved to 7-10. Central Mountain dropped to 11-6.
